Re: Copperform Roofing, No 6 Binjai Rise, Singapore

Copperform “Greenway” panels were specified for the roofing of a 1300 square metre luxury residence in Singapore in 1995, and were installed in 1996 at the residence.

The panels were in natural finish, and Copperform also supplied all of the rainwater goods, flashings, eaves linings and accessories for the installation, as well as treated plywood base linings.

To date, the panels have been very successful, and together with the client, we are very pleased with the roof. The roof has attracted extensive or favourable comment in Singapore, both because of the crispness of the roof sheeting and the subtle patina now developing on the exposed sheets.

We also found the Copperform company most helpful in clarifying roofing details during our documentation of the house, and in their attention to technical issues raised in the course of work.

Dear Sir,

We are happy to provide this reference in support of your submission for the Brunei project.

Copperform have been involved in a number of our projects, namely Eltham Library, Melbourne in 1993, Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, Northern Territory in 1994/95 and most recently on a executive beach-side residence/conference centre at Flinders, Victoria. In all of these projects, Copperform have been involved from the early planning and feasibility stages.

In particular, Copperform’s involvement with the Uluru-Kata Cultural Centre is noteworthy. Copperform developed a copper shingle system specially for the curved undulating low-pitched roofs of the Cultural Centre. They provided working details, specification notes, and cost estimates for consideration by this office and our client, the Australian Nature Conservation Agency. Following refinement and further investigations, Copperform was ultimately incorporated as a nominated supplier and installer within the building contract. Copperform carried out the construction work in accordance with the documents and provided a guarantee covering materials and workmanship. In short, Copperform made a significant contribution to the success of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, architecturally and contractually.

We look forward to continuing our relationship with Copperform, whose personnel we believe fully support the development of architectural concepts, ensuring that copper reaches its full potential as a building material of great beauty.

Yours Sincerely,

Greg Burgess
